This is film of Dame Margot Fonteyn and Michael Somes dancing in the three act ballet ‘Ondine’ with the Royal Ballet in 1960.

The choreographer of course is Sir Frederick Ashton, with music by Hans Werner Henze
The scenery and costumes for this production are by Lila de Nobili, and the story by Friedrich de la Motte Fouque, adapted by Ashton.
Again, this is one of Fonteyn’s signature ballets and one of the roles most closely identified with her. Dame Ninette de Valois said it showed all the ballerina’s greatest qualities to perfection.
Enjoy.
