On March 21st, 2024, The Department of Africana Studies at University of Pennsylvania held their 11th Annual Graduate Student Colloquium, "Black Queer Placemaking: Methods, Histories, Diasporas”. Featured speakers were Paul Joseph López Oro, Assistant Professor & Program Director of Africana Studies at Bryn Mawr College; Chrystel Oloukoï, Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the Carter G. Woodson Institute for African-American and African Studies; and J.T. Roane, Assistant Professor of Africana Studies & Geography at Rutgers University. This event was presented by The Department of Africana Studies at Penn and was supported by The Center for Africana Studies at Penn.
