30 Days, 30 Outfits | Transitional Dressing | Day 1
???? Transitional dressing is about dressing for the “in-between” seasons, when it’s not warm enough for summer clothes, but too early for heavy autumn/winter pieces. It’s the skill of putting together outfits that adapt to changeable weather and shifting seasons.
Key parts of transitional dressing:
• Layering → light knits, cardigans, blazers you can add or remove.
• Versatile fabrics → cotton, fine knits, mid-weight trousers and dresses.
• Neutral or crossover colours → shades that carry from late summer into early autumn.
• Practical footwear → ankle boots, ballet flats, loafers, not strappy sandals, not heavy winter boots.
It’s not about buying a whole new wardrobe, it’s about reworking pieces you already own, and adding a few versatile items that will last beyond one season.
This month I’m sharing 30 outfits in 30 days. You’ll see what I actually wear for WFH mornings, running my jewellery business, evenings out, weekends and a week away in Devon. A mix of everyday looks and some dressier ones, because September isn’t just one kind of month.
I’m 162cm, petite, and over 40, so you’ll also see how I approach proportion and fit while keeping things modern and wearable.
