Everything about this fabulous skirt set references the 1940s. WW II immediately rang in utilitarian chic because resources were scarce. The vibe was comfort rather than over-the-top glam.

This was the era of rationing and practicality. Industrial colors like steel gray, black, and taupe took centerstage. Wide pants, waistline-defining suiting, A-line Knee length skirts, and big shoulders defined the decade. Jewelry was in a particularly innovative moment. Less fussy "factory chic" links, hinges, and cabochon stones were on point.

Fashion is cyclical, and 80s trends repeated those same strong and sexy silhouettes. I was lucky enough to be a teenager in the 80's. Every time I revisit those shapes, it reminds me how fierce that era was ????❤️????.
