Nes grew up in a military household and eventually ended up serving in the military for an extended period, where self expression in the form of tattoos was considered sinful. Joe, on the other hand, began life in the streets of New York City where tattoos were gradually becoming more common and accepted. Both ended up getting full body suits and falling in love.
