Renato Balestra is still one of the few Italian companies to maintain family ownership combined with a strong managerial structure: tradition that renews itself and entrepreneurship projected into the future.

Renato Balestra was born in Trieste into a family of architects and engineers.

From a typically Central European background, he began studying civil engineering.

From an early age, however, he cultivated his artistic inclinations both in painting and in the study of music, devoting several hours of the day to the piano.

Until his final year of engineering, however, he had never been interested in fashion and it was only after a bet between friends that he drew a model.

The design was so popular that, unbeknownst to him, it was sent to Milan, where he received a surprising invitation to collaborate on a haute couture collection.
