Ephemeral Tattoos claimed to use ink that disappears in 9-15 months. However, some customers complain that their tattoos never disappeared. Actress Barbara Edmonds says she got her Ephemeral tattoo in February of 2021 but it is still on her arm. Following the backlash, Ephemeral updated the time it takes for their tattoos to fade. The company now says their tattoos could last up to three years. They also closed all of their tattoo parlors and pivoted to selling their fading ink only online. On their website, they say while fade times vary from person to person, they also stand by their claim that 100% of their tattoos will eventually fade.
