When I use a thick liner like a 14RL, I keep my machine at about an 80-degree angle to help the needles hit that 1–2mm sweet spot.
I also don’t hang the needle out too far, almost riding the tube, so I get smoother ink flow without it spitting everywhere.
It’s the opposite of how I run thin liners, where I let the needle hang out more.
