Two Bikes CRASHED

Fully story:
As we were going through the previous corner my buddy SlowPed (riding his Genuine Hooligan 170cc scooter) commented that he felt he was going a bit too quick through the corner. I had just finished telling him that he should really slow down for that corner but it was too late. He unfortunately target fixated and went right off the road, narrowly missing the corner marker sign. My buddy Sonic on his 2016 Suzuki GSX-S750 was behind him and target fixated on SlowPed going off the road and went wide into the grass. Although it won't come through in the video the ground was a bit damp and the grass slopes pretty abruptly after leaving the pavement. He went wide into the grass and almost saved it but the handlebars started shaking back and forth (tank slapper) and then the bike dug into the grass throwing both him and the bike. It's hard to tell but he went a good 10 feet past the bike.

I only knew that SlowPed had wrecked because I saw it and was also on comms with him. His comm unit ripped off though so I lost contact with him and didn't know if he was ok. You can't tell in the video but I heard another crash behind me as my bike stopped. I turned around to find Sonic on the ground. The reason I ran past him and to the bike was because it was in the road, still on, and I didn't know if there was fluids leaking so I wanted to quickly turn the bike off before I went to him. I also saw SlowPed already climbing out of the ditch on his own so I assumed he was relatively ok. Another concern I had was being a blind corner and cars coming wide around the corner or too fast and hitting one of us which is why we fairly quickly got the bikes up and out of the way. That is why I was riding Sonic's bike at the end just to make sure it was ride-able and to get it to a safer location down the road.

SlowPed got some scrapes on his elbows and a cut on his lower back. He faired well considering he didn't have on full gear. Ironically we were on the way to Cycle Gear to get him a jacket and a new helmet. He was sore for a couple days but is doing fine. His scooter is getting a new set of forks and has some cosmetic damage that he isn't worried about and he will be back on the road soon.

Sonic was fully geared and is thankful that he was. He jammed his thumb pretty good and may have stress fractured his wrist. He also got a chip in his knee causing some swelling and it's taken a couple weeks for him to get back to normal. As his GoPro was ripped from his helmet it disconnected the external battery so he lost his footage. He just remembers it happened fast and he hit the ground. Upon inspecting his Shoei RF-1200 helmet further it actually stress fractured the EPS foam so he took a pretty good hit to the head as well. His 2 month old GSX-S750 was unfortunately totaled out. With nearly every panel taking damage and needing forks, a wheel, and a new tank, it too greatly offset the value of the bike. He's evaluating his options and looking for a new bike.

I was trying to tell myself to stay calm but it was the first time I've been in a situation like that and both SlowPed and Sonic are very good friends of mine so it's hard to stay focused and calm. I'm just glad they are ok.
