You're better at drawing than you think...

A lot of new artists try to draw the final version of a tattoo design from scratch and then get frustrated when it doesn't turn out perfect. In reality, there's probably only a few artists in the world who can actually draw like that.

That's why it's so important to "build up" your designs. Doing so makes sure you're getting the proportions right and putting down a framework that'll support you as you work toward the final product.
