Today's Fashion Edition is counting down 5 of the BEST looks from Meghan Markle, and they all have a few things in common! We all know she doesn't always get it right, but that doesn't mean she always gets it wrong either. Let's take a look at a list of her TOP 5 OUTFITS & why they worked so well. We recently discussed how many of her clothes are objectively beautiful items themselves, but it's the styling or poor choice of occasion that ruins the look. While we're not completely away from some of those issues, these are some of her personal best, and some of the best outfits for her body type. I've covered her style concerns in detail in previous videos so it's not IN today's video but a brief summary is included below. The outfits featured on this list adequately address her style needs while still giving a polished finish that complements her figure nicely.
Meghan's body type is prominently short waisted, her torso is much shorter in proportion to her legs, which has a big impact on how off the rack clothes fit her and also in her overall silhouette's balance. She also doesn't have a particularly well defined waist, when paired with that shorter torso she runs the risk of looking quite boxy on top when outfits accentuate her waist or draw the eye there. Similarly, her limbs can look out of proportion and lanky when the outfit does not balance her silhouette. Her shoulders are lean, but broad, as the widest part of her frame, this can dominate her figure which can be successful when part of a cohesive and well balanced outfit but can lean "top heavy" if not. Today's video covers a few of many great styling techniques to balance similar style concerns to that of Meghan Markle's including creating strategic focal points, selecting certain silhouettes and using illusion to enhance your figure.
